Benefits of a Dekton worktop

Dekton is one of the most sought-after surfaces on the market for good reason. Perfect for all elements in the kitchen, including worktops, upstands, splashbacks, and waterfall islands, a Dekton surface offers multiple favourable qualities:

  • Extensive choice: Available in an impressive variety of colours, styles, and finishes (ultra glossy, matt, and textured).
  • Non-porous: Fluids and bacteria are unable to penetrate the surface, ensuring your worktop always stays hygienically clean.
  • Stain resistant: Holds up well against tough stains like red wine, curry sauce, and rich spices.
  • Heat resistant: You can place hot dishes and pans directly onto a Dekton worktop without causing damage (though trivets are still recommended).
  • Scratch and impact resistant: Famed for strength and durability, making them incredibly difficult to chip or damage.
  • Minimal joints: Available in large slabs, providing visual continuity and reducing the need for joints.

How to care for it

Recommended Care

  • Wipe the surface with a soft cloth, microfibre cloth or non-abrasive sponge.
  • Use warm water and mild detergent or a neutral pH kitchen cleaner.
  • Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly to prevent streaks or water marks.
  • For slightly tougher marks, use a non-abrasive cream cleaner (such as a gentle, non-scratch cream cleanser) applied with a soft cloth.

What to Avoid

  • Abrasive pads, steel wool or scouring sponges.
  • Harsh chemical products such as: concentrated bleach, oven cleaners, strong acidic or alkaline cleaners
  • Leaving chemical products or spills to sit or dry on the surface.
  • Dragging heavy or sharp items across the worktop, which may scratch or damage edges.
